CV Theft

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

In a joint experiment to highlight potential problems during Identity Fraud Prevention Week, the Police and the Information Assurance Advisory Council (IAAC) set up a bogus website asking people to submit their CV’s for a job vacancy.

Following this experiment they were able to highlight the most useful pieces of information that criminals can use.

Please be assured that Land-Force keeps all personal contact details, including names hidden from view until such time as an employer expresses an interest in them as an employee and needs to contact them with regard to discussions for interviews etc.  The two pieces of information which are currently displayed  for general viewing by Land-Force will be removed as soon as is possible.

We take the protection of our jobseekers personal information very seriously and take all necessary steps to insure that this information is not used fraudulently.

Food, Glorious Food

Friday, October 17th, 2008

With winter approaching, the evenings getting darker, no money to go out, I feel that some good home cooking is in order.  Let me know your favourite winter recipes, preferably with a comfort food factor, but not too heavy on the calories.  Take a look at Jamies Olivers site for some good ideas, if you dont have any favourites of your own.   www.jamieoliver.com

Frustrating Fractures And The Credit Crunch

Friday, October 17th, 2008

What a pain in the elbow!   As any of you will know if you have broken bones and work outside, life instantly grinds to a halt.  Trying to pick up feed bowls, whilst being mugged by large animals, who strangley think that a plaster cast is some new type of food and negotiating fences is not an easy task.  Try picking up a spade or broom,  there just isn’t enough room on the handle for hands and casts.  Dear customers of Land-force, take pity on me and send nice easy adverts to process and save me from the need for two hand typing.

I just love those orange thingies…

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

They are fantastic, I just need to click on the orange thingy (RSS Feed, News Feed, Data Feed – call them what you will) and then I can rest assured that every now and then my Internet browser will take great delight in telling me there is some new content on the site that I may be interested in. Fabulous, no more clicking on my bookmarks every day to check for new stuff  and I know I will get to see the info almost as soon as its gone up on the website.

We’ve finally put News Feeds on our site, you may have seen them popping up on the Land-Force website over the last few weeks, so now you too can have jobs and CVs landing at your desktop within minutes of them going live – this is excellent for snapping up those sought after CVs before someone else offers them a job!

To receive feeds you need to be using a ‘News Reader’, this is easier than it sounds and you are probably already using one as all the latest Internet browsers have this built in (Internet Explorer 7, Firefox) and even Outlook 2007 has it, so you can get feeds as if they were part of your normal email.

To get started, click on either the Jobs Seeker or Employer link to go through to our site, select an industry you are interested in and you will then see an orange symbol on the right-hand side, click one now and see!

Let us know how you get on.
