As Zara Philips best hope Toytown is still not out and about competing so looking less likely for selection and Italian Rider Alberto Giugni has lost Jakarta to Piggy French and Crown Obsidian to injury, these are just two big names searching for new horses.

August and September may be the dullest months since records began and the economy is reported to be in freefall, BUT our Olympic teams both able bodied and Paralympians have done us proud.

Congratulations to every single one of the atheletes who took part, especially those who didn’t really have a say it the matter. I’m talking about our Equestrian team of Showjumpers, Eventers and Dressage horses. Having endured training in thick rugs to get used to the heat, and being wrapped up to keep them from harming their legs. Being put on planes and kept still from long periods which they are not really designed to do, they performed to their best under difficult circumstances. I think should also congratulate the back up teams for all, having heard reports from one groom that ‘the Olympics was very hard work in hot conditions and no fun at all’ All the superstars both human and equine could not have made it without their support teams.

Looking forward to 2012, do you think we can do better? Do you know an Olympic prospect, send a photo to put up on our blog. Do you think we can do better than 2008, any idea or medal numbers, post your predictions. It will be interesting to see who’s the closest.
