Irish Push Ahead with Proposed Super Dairy in Lincolnshire
3 Irish Farmers hope to establish a 3000 cow dairy unit in Lincolnshire, this is the second proposal for a super dairy. Nocton were refused planning earlier this year.  In the US units of 10,000 plus cows are common place and can produce the end product at the price consumers and supermarkets demand. So why in the UK are the public against the idea? Is the primary reason, animal welfare, or just the thought that farming is an industry, rather than a cosy country occupation. Whatever your thoughts on the subject, it would appear that larger and larger dairy units are coming so should the question be how professional are the UK dairy personnel?
