An experienced organic grower is required to manage our 3 acre soil association registered small holding;  growing vegetables and herbs from scratch for a busy seasonal restaurant. The primary concentration is upon perishable greens and salads, which are sequentially grown throughout the season; other vegetables and soft fruit are also grown together with flowers and ornamentals for the hotel.

The Argyll Hotel is on the Isle of Iona, and the successful candidate would be required to live in the hotel's staff accommodation - or alternatively a caravan could be found on the neighboring Isle of Mull (a 10 min commute on the ferry). We have a very convivial and friendly working environment  - and the island has a busy and resourceful small community.

The position is ideal for someone who has experience of growing and of organic certification compliance, but has yet to manage their own enterprise. The work is completely hands on - and there is always a very hungry kitchen ready to use whatever is produced in the hotel's restaurant which is predicated on home grown, home made, home baked and fairly traded products.
