Marine Environmental Campaigns Manager

Based in Herefordshire or Nottingham (2 – 3 days home working possible)

The Angling Trust is seeking a bright, personable and knowledgeable person to lead our campaigns to halt and reverse the widespread decline in marine fish stocks.

Principal objectives:

- Influence policy and practice to lead to a long term improvement in fish stocks;
- Develop a framework for selecting local and national issues affecting marine fisheries, on which the Angling Trust will campaign on behalf of its members;
- Devise and lead campaigns on these issues at local, regional and national and international levels;
- Compile case studies of these issues to inform national policy;
- Provide guidance to angling clubs and other Angling Trust members about ways of engaging with the decision-making process.
- Report to the Marine Committee of the Angling Trust and its sub-committees and to external funders as required.

Important qualities of the postholder:

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline;
- Good IT abilities;
- Some knowledge of angling and preferably a practising sea angler.

Essential qualities of the postholder:

- Outstanding written and verbal communication and advocacy skills;
- Knowledge of issues relating to sea fisheries and the relevant organisations involved;
- Experience of devising and running campaigns.
